The community of plumbing and hardware professionals in the United States, announced the winners and honourable mentions of Product of the Year 2022 at its 21st annual conference and product exposition, held in New Orleans from 27-30 October 2022. Two Gessi products were selected in the ‘Water Delivery Product of the Year’ category: the Venti20 collection designed by Lázaro Rosa Violán and the Gessi 316 kitchen mixer.Gessi Venti20 won on the following grounds: Designed by famous Spanish interior decorator Lázaro Rosa Violán, Venti20 collection is characterized by the chromatic beauty of the finishes that intrigues the imagination with promises of sophisticated wellness. The purity of form and the pronounced formal details of the design are beautifully nuanced, resulting in eclectic finishes with a distinctly Art Deco vibe. With carefully dosed retro notes, yet doing away with nostalgic replicas, the Venti20 Collection breathes new life into signature elements the ‘20s are known for – the detailing, iconic style, and playful essence. The collection ingests the enthusiasm for life and future looking optimism of that era and infuses it into the most private spaces of contemporary living.The nomination of Gessi 316 Cucina recognises the excellence and distinctiveness of GESSI through its emblematic metal-fabric Gessi316 collection, which ‘dresses’ steel with the textures Trame, Intreccio, Cesello and Meccanica, paying homage to the Made in Italy expertise in fashion, goldsmithing and craftsmanship: Gessi’s creativity and style infuse a total new perceptibility into steel itself, giving a material which is usually “technical” and cold, an unprecedented heat, and a special furnishing capacity. Gessi has enriched the body of the faucet with aesthetic and decorative details, such as textures and patterns with different tastes; the steel seems thus “dressed” by the texture. Handles and distinguishable reed valves, finishes of contemporary charm, and an innovative modular sink system complete the possibilities for customization.Judging for the 2022 DPHA Product of the Year Awards was outsourced. Entries were judged by a distinguished panel of media, marketing and industry luminaries who evaluated each entry based on design and technological innovation.
