Following the success of the second edition of Pink October, Gessi has continued its commitment to cancer prevention with a new initiative dedicated to men’s health: Movember. This project, part of the campaign “You Are The Greatest Project You Will Ever Work On”, focuses on raising awareness about the prevention of prostate and testicular cancer, while also promoting psychological well-being. Gessi renewed its collaboration with Fondazione Umberto Veronesi, offering its male employees — who make up 55% of the company’s workforce — the opportunity to participate in two training sessions held at the Sala Academy in Parco Gessi. Experts Dr. Agnese Collino, Scientific Supervisor of Fondazione Umberto Veronesi, and Dr. Alessandro Vitale, Biologist and Science Communicator, guided participants through an in-depth exploration of prevention and early diagnosis, providing practical tools for taking care of their health. The program was structured around three pillars of prevention: Primary Prevention: Adopting a healthy lifestyle, including a balanced diet, regular physical activity, reducing alcohol and smoking, getting adequate rest, and protecting the skin from sun exposure. These habits help reduce the risk of diseases, including cancer. Secondary Prevention: Monitoring health through regular check-ups and early diagnosis, which are essential for timely intervention when needed. Tertiary Prevention: Continuous follow-ups to improve prognosis and quality of life after a diagnosis. During the sessions, warning signs, such as urinary difficulties or blood in the urine, were highlighted to encourage a proactive approach to health. A unique aspect of the initiative was the opportunity for all employees to undergo free urological consultations. At the end of each session, a Move-ember Aperitif was organized — a convivial moment to reinforce the importance of a healthy diet and regular physical activity as tools for daily well-being. This new edition of Movember has solidified Gessi’s role as a promoter of a corporate culture that places well-being at its core, turning prevention into a lifestyle. With this initiative, the company once again demonstrated its commitment to the quality of life and health of its employees, blending design, innovation, and care for people.
