In the context of the collaboration between Salone del Mobile.Milano and the Westbund Art&Design Fair in Shanghai, recognized as the most influential contemporary art fair in China and attracting visitors passionate about art, design, and creativity every year, Gessi is among the featured participants of The Orbit’s Orbit: a performative installation about Italian design by artist Matilde Cassani. From November 7 to 10, the installation is hosted at the newly opened and futuristic venue, The Orbit, an event space located in the Xuhui financial district and designed by architect Thomas Heatherwick. This event serves as an important showcase for Made in Italy in China, a market that values quality, craftsmanship, and innovation. The project, curated by Matilde Cassani, explores the interconnection between art and design, creating an immersive experience where visitors become an integral part of the installation through dance performances and live shows. The exhibited products, selected to represent the excellence of Italian design, blend seamlessly with the architectural space and artistic performances, resulting in a unique and engaging narrative. Gessi participates with selected pieces from Perle, one of its Haute Culture creations that celebrates the creativity of designers and artisans, who shape these lines every day with passion and exceptional skill, preserving Italy’s artisanal heritage. Of the three material worlds for the handles and faucet controls in the Perle collection—Natural Stone Pearls, Metallic Pearls, and Murano Pearls—the Murano Pearls take center stage in this exhibition, along with the new washbasin first introduced at the latest Salone del Mobile.Milano in April. With this participation, Gessi reaffirms its role as an ambassador of Italian design worldwide, continuing to explore new frontiers of creativity and innovation. This same spirit underpins Casa Gessi New York, recently inaugurated in the heart of SoHo, where the Perle collection continues to captivate, telling a story of timeless elegance and deep-rooted Italian craftsmanship.
