In the 2000s, when taps were valves resting on the washbasin surface, Gessi revolutionised the concept of water supply, questioning from which spot it should flow: from the surface, from the floor, from the wall, or from the ceiling. This question drove the company to build the design on a pure and absolute form, like straight lines drawn on paper.

DESIGNER

Prospero Rasulo

Born in 1953 in Stigliano di Matera, Prospero Rasulo began his career as an artist and designer after completing his studies at the Brera Academy in Milan in 1980. His experience encompasses a wide range of projects, including stage sets, installations for public and private spaces, as well as pictorial and plastic expressions. The Rettangolo collection is born from a gesture of creative freedom, of abstraction, from the original and ironic exploration of simple yet evocative forms. It is the perfect demonstration of how design makes everyday places and actions special.

The purity of a unique and inimitable sign

The inspiration of the rectangular style became, in 2002, a complete “family” of bathroom fittings: the Rettangolo collection, an immediate success, loved and awarded worldwide, made possible a new creativity based on rigor and cleanliness. Its minimalist design introduced a new concept of elegance and formal serenity, going beyond the decorative and overloaded forms of the past.
