May 23-30 St. Petersburg became the Design capital with the second edition of the St. Petersburg Design Week (Неделя Дизайна), the week dedicated to design and its cutting edge expressions, with an entire day, the 24th, dedicated to the celebration of Italian design. Designers, artists, architects and other international experts of the sector attended a master class, pitches, round tables, workshops and openings in the wonderful locations offered by the town of St Petersburg that on the same occasion celebrated the anniversary of its foundation. World premiere Gessi iSpa Collection was one of the top events. iSpa was presented in a sumptuous “total look” setting at the Smalta Mosaic Institution Showroom and introduced in its concept of “Ethic Design” by Gessi CEO Paolo Giroldi and anthropologist and sustainable economy scholar, Prof. Dipak Pant who steadily collaborates with Gessi on the themes of innovation and sustainability. Designed by Prospero Rasulo for the complete furniture of a bathroom, from taps, to sinks, furnishings, and wellness systems as well, iSpa is a philosophy more than a Collection of products; with its organic and reassuring shapes, it combines the most contemporary “Hi-Tech” with the millenary spirit of Salus per Aquam. Gessi’s ethic approach to design and production makes the “Hi-touch” bathroom a top touch, not just digital, but distinctive of that unique know-how central to Gessi’s celebrity around the world. iSpa in fact is not only aesthetics, ergonomics, functionality and meticulous Made in Italy production, but the incarnation of a production and project approach that joins design and ethics, environment friendliness with new home living requirements and desires: Gessi Ethic Design on which Gessi has been focused for many years with the help of anthropologists, home living psychologists and other internationally acclaimed scholars.
