Gessi, the world-renowned Italian bath and kitchen fittings company whose products can be found in the world’s most luxurious hotels, spas, yachts, and private residences, celebrated its most successful ICFF show to date. At the 29th gathering of the annual furniture fair, Gessi released their collaboration with David Rockwell and his firm, Rockwell Group: the Inciso Collection. Bringing a new visual language to the contemporary bath-scape, the highly customizable and fully flexible Inciso channels the honesty of traditional craftsmanship with clean modern forms consistent with the tradition of Gessi.
Rockwell Group is an interdisciplinary architecture and design firm, based in New York with a satellite office in Madrid, that emphasizes innovation and thought leadership in every project. Founded by David Rockwell, FAIA, the 250-person firm uses theater, technology, and finely wrought craft to create extraordinary experiences and build environments across the globe.
Gessi also unveiled a refresh on their iconic Rettangolo Collection, which used square and rectangular shapes and sharp angles to transform a daily use object into a furnishing sculpture. The Private Wellness brand also debuted the Gessi 316 Program, a response to the company’s research for a precious and noble material that is durable, resistant and visually beautiful. The result is the exclusive Gessi AISI 316 stainless steel, the perfect fusion of advanced technology, artisanship and high design.
Attendees of the tradeshow were awe-struck by the decorative elements of the new products, which still remained true to Gessi’s modern and minimalistic aesthetic. The variety and versatility of the newly offered finishes was also a point of admiration for the guests at ICFF, demonstrating Gessi’s commitment to creating products suitable for any environment. It was clear to the design world and everyone else there to bear witness that Gessi is reaching a new, pivotal stage in its rich history - its future.
As an expression of this evolution, Gessi celebrated the launch of Inciso with a glamorous event at Nobu Downtown, New York City’s latest culinary destination designed by David Rockwell. The event had a striking number of designers, journalists, and customers in attendance. A special bracelet was created in Inciso style as a gift to guests, and live music, cocktails, and hors d'oeuvres elevated the celebration. “David [Rockwell] and I are so proud to contribute to the movement to transform the bathroom into a space for rejuvenation and for contemporary and modern objects and art. The Inciso Collection is a part of Gessi’s greater goal to enrich these intimate spaces with evocative, functional, and beautiful furnishings, technologies, and designs,” said founder Gian Luca Gessi.
