With its “Bathrooms of the World” exhibition, Gessi presents a global journey through various cultural views related to body care and the rooms devoted to it. From the Mediterranean to New York, from Scandinavia to Bali, Russia, Japan and Morocco, Gessi interprets the bathrooms of the world through the lenses of creativity and style. The environments create an exhibition that brings to the public fascinating settings of Gessi products that have become icons of design. Beyond that, they demonstrate how those design fit perfectly in virtually every setting, at any latitude, be it a classic or modern one, opulent or minimalist. The exhibition mostly demonstrates the Company's ability to conceive and create unique spaces with custom furnishings and fittings, precious objects, and rare innovative materials processed in unprecedented ways, each collected from all over the world. The seven installations embody explorations of such fine materials as marble, more conventional ones such as stone and wood, and the most unpredictable such as leather, metals, paper, natural pastes and resins. For each of them, the Gessi taste for experimentation goes beyond the customary use of the material in favor of original interpretations and treatments that reinvent their look and use. For example, Moroccan traditional grid wood carving partitions are interpreted in different marbles. With Russian capitonné, the softness of the leather is rendered in stone. Throughout, the coatings, bathtubs and furnishings are designed by the Gessi Style Studio and realized by a team of specialized craftsmen Gessi has brought to its team. These creations, which stand midway between art and craftsmanship, ancient wisdom and modern technology, turn materials and objects into original, unique creations. The path among the "Bathrooms of the World" takes visitors through a world of fascinating atmospheres, different shapes and colors. The installations evoke not only amazing suggestions, but also customized solutions that Gessi is able to translate into actual projects through an exclusive service of custom design for the bathroom. The metal frames that stage the materials and walls of the seven installations create a flexible open exhibit space in sync with the extraordinary architecture of the Gessi Milano showroom. Over time they will host more interpretations of the bathroom, offering new visions for the most intimate room of the home.
